Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to any data provided by natural persons (the users) to DwCubix. DwCubix is the trading name of VELVETOCTOPUS, UNIPESSOAL, LDA, NIPC 519661028, with its address at Rua Domingues Aguiar, Edifício Paviminho, Bloco 2, 1.º Esquerdo Trás, 4930-595 Valença, Portugal, the controller of personal data. It also applies to data obtained through visits to the website, through forms, or through subscription to any newsletter issued by DwCubix. By accepting this Privacy Policy, the user authorises DwCubix and gives prior consent for DwCubix to process their personal data and the data relating to their commercial or contractual relationship, and to manage that data on the terms set out here.
This policy states the purposes for which personal data is collected, and the rights users have over that data: access, rectification, restriction of processing, portability, objection and erasure.
1. Information collected
We collect data about users when they visit the website, register, subscribe to the newsletter, or complete a contact form. We may also use cookies to collect information that helps us improve our services and make later visits easier. We do not collect personal information about users unless they provide it voluntarily.
2. Registration and newsletters
When a user registers or subscribes to a newsletter, only essential information is requested: name, company or institution, and email and mobile contacts. On registering, the user may authorise general newsletters or newsletters for a particular sector. The service can be cancelled at any time by email to [email protected].
3. Forms on the website
When a user completes the assistance request form on the DwCubix website, only essential information is requested: company or institution, its NIF where applicable, the contact person, and email and telephone contacts. This data is collected only to provide the assistance requested and is not used for other purposes.
On the contact form, the message is sent only after the visitor agrees to this processing. The message is delivered to [email protected]. The website does not store it. Formspree transmits the message and keeps a copy for 30 days.
4. Information about the user's device
DwCubix may collect technical information about the user's device when the user visits the website. The information is obtained through the browser and covers the IP address, the operating system and the browser in use, the screen resolution, and the referring website.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small software tags stored on the computer through the browser. They keep only information related to preferences, and do not include personal data.
Cookies help determine the usefulness, interest and number of uses of websites, allowing faster and more efficient browsing and removing the need to enter the same information repeatedly.
Two groups of cookies may be used:
- Persistent cookies are stored in the browser on the device used to access the site (computer, mobile or tablet) and are used on each new visit. They are generally used to direct browsing towards the user's interests, so that the service can be more personalised.
- Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain in the browser's cookie file until the user leaves the website. The information obtained from these cookies is used to analyse web traffic patterns, identify problems and provide a better browsing experience.
6. Children's data
We do not knowingly collect data from children. We accept that this may happen because we have no way to confirm age. If a form or registration includes the user's date of birth and that date shows that the user is a child, the data is deleted immediately. Responsibility for supervising children, including their use of technology, lies with the holder of parental responsibility. If a child's data is collected inadvertently, we delete it as soon as the holder of parental responsibility notifies us of the collection.
7. Purposes of collection
We use the information we collect to:
- Improve the user's visit to the website.
- Respond to users' requests, including sending newsletters, making contact and providing assistance.
- Produce statistics from browsing data, which is pseudonymised.
- Provide, maintain, protect and improve our services, and develop new ones.
- Ensure that data subjects can exercise their rights.
- Improve the user's browsing experience and the overall quality of our services, through information collected by cookies.
We will ask for express consent before using information for purposes other than those set out in this Privacy Policy.
8. Automated decisions, including profiling
We collect information from users, with their explicit consent, so that we can provide a personalised information service through newsletters or commercial contacts, according to their preferences. Users may object to this collection by following the procedure in section 10, Rights of data subjects.
9. Security measures
DwCubix is concerned with the security of personal data and with users' privacy, and has implemented security and organisational measures that protect the confidentiality and security of that data. Any subcontracted entity is likewise bound by security measures, and is authorised to process personal data for which we are the controller only if it offers guarantees of security and confidentiality.
No method of transmitting or storing data is invulnerable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from computer fraud, or from any other circumstance in which information is accessed or disclosed without our express authorisation.
10. Rights of data subjects
The user has the right of access, update, rectification, restriction of processing, portability, objection and erasure, and may exercise any of these rights by sending a written request to:
Address: Rua Domingues Aguiar, Edifício Paviminho, Bloco 2, 1.º Esquerdo Trás, 4930-595 Valença, Portugal
For the attention of: Data protection department of DwCubix
Email: [email protected]
By the same means, and at any time, the user may withdraw consent given for the processing of personal data. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal, on the basis of the consent previously given.
The user also has the right to lodge a complaint about the processing of their data with the CNPD — Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, the Portuguese data protection authority.
11. Retention
All data provided through registration on the website, subscription to a newsletter, or submission of a form is deleted or anonymised within a maximum of 10 business days after the registration is deactivated, the subscription is cancelled, or the requested assistance is completed. A copy of a contact-form submission kept by Formspree is held for 30 days.
12. Changes to this policy
DwCubix may change this Privacy Policy. We suggest that this page is reviewed regularly.
